Custom-built 900L ADR hydro-jetting trailer: cleaning and degassing of tanks during decommissioning
At PEGASE ENERGIES, every project answers a real-world need on the ground. Our design office recently designed and built a fully custom ADR hydro-jetting trailer, fitted with a 900 L tank for contaminated hydrocarbons and a 450 L water reserve, intended for the cleaning and degassing of tanks prior to their decommissioning. A mobile, self-contained solution that complies with regulations, designed to operate directly on site.
The need: cleaning and degassing a tank before decommissioning
Decommissioning old hydrocarbon tanks is not something to be improvised. Before any cutting or removal, each tank must be carefully cleaned and then degassed in order to eliminate the residues of flammable products — remnants of diesel, domestic fuel oil or heating oil — and the vapours they release. These operations, often carried out on remote worksites and sometimes with no electrical supply, involve handling contaminated hydrocarbons classified as dangerous goods.
Our client, a specialist in tank decommissioning, was looking for mobile, self-contained equipment that fully complied with the ADR regulations for transporting the recovered products.
Our solution: a self-contained ADR hydro-jetting trailer
We developed a genuine mobile cleaning and degassing station. The trailer carries a 900-litre recovery tank dedicated to the contaminated hydrocarbons extracted during the operation, as well as a 450-litre water reserve that feeds the high-pressure cleaner — enough to work in complete autonomy, with no water supply on site.
A high-pressure cleaner handles the internal cleaning of the tank to be treated, while a lobe pump takes care of drawing off the effluent and transferring it to the 900 L recovery tank.
Complete autonomy thanks to the combustion engine drive
The key strength of this project lies in its complete autonomy. The high-pressure cleaner and the lobe pump are driven by an integrated combustion engine: the trailer operates without any external electrical connection. It can therefore be deployed on any worksite, including the most remote sites.
Technical specifications
- Trailer compliant with the ADR regulations for transporting contaminated hydrocarbons
- 900 L recovery tank dedicated to hydrocarbon residues (diesel, domestic fuel oil, heating oil…)
- 450 L water reserve feeding the high-pressure cleaner
- High-pressure cleaner for the internal cleaning of tanks
- Lobe pump for drawing off the effluent
- Combustion engine drive ensuring complete autonomy, with no electrical supply
The benefits of a custom-built PEGASE hydro-jetting trailer
This trailer brings together on a single piece of equipment all the functions required for cleaning and degassing tanks: cleaning, extraction, storage and secure transport of the recovered hydrocarbons. Its energy autonomy offers great freedom of operation in the field, while its ADR compliance guarantees that regulatory requirements are met.
Designed and built in our Green Factory in the Hauts-de-France region, this project showcases the expertise of PEGASE ENERGIES in the design of custom-built equipment, tailored to the constraints of each trade.
